Your privacy matters
A plain-English guide to the personal information Agritrend Limited collects, how we use it, and how we keep it safe — in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
We're Agritrend Limited ("Agritrend", "we" or "us") — a UK retailer of agricultural equipment, parts and accessories, registered in England and Wales. When you shop with us, open an account or use our website, we're the "data controller" for your personal information.
This page explains, in plain English, what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you give us directly, plus a little that's picked up automatically when you browse our site.
Your account
- Your name, email, phone number and password when you sign up.
- Your billing and delivery addresses, and business details if you're buying for a farm or company.
Orders and payments
- What you've bought, your order history and any delivery notes.
- Payments are handled securely by our payment providers — we never store your full card details on our servers.
Messages and enquiries
- Anything you send us through contact forms, live chat, email or over the phone.
- A record of our chats so we can help you better next time.
Browsing and device info
- Your IP address, browser, device type, the pages you view and where you came from.
- Cookies and similar tools (see our Cookie Policy).
3. How we use your information
We only use your personal information where the UK GDPR gives us a lawful reason to do so:
- To deliver on our contract with you — taking orders, arranging delivery, looking after your account and handling returns.
- Our legitimate interests — making the site better, keeping it safe from fraud and helping you when you get in touch.
- Your consent — sending marketing emails and setting non-essential cookies, but only if you've said yes.
- Legal duties — meeting our tax, accounting, consumer law and other legal obligations.
Changed your mind about marketing? No problem — just hit "unsubscribe" in any email, or drop us a line.
4. Sharing your information
We only share your details with trusted partners who help us run the business, and only as much as they need:
- Couriers and hauliers — so your order gets to you, anywhere in the UK.
- Payment providers — to take card and bank payments safely.
- Finance partners — if you apply for finance or leasing on a purchase.
- Hosting and IT providers — to keep our website, email and systems running smoothly.
- Professional advisers — like accountants, auditors and solicitors, when we need them.
- Regulators and law enforcement — if the law says we have to share information.
We never sell your personal information. Full stop.
5. International transfers
We try to keep your information within the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA). If a supplier we rely on sits outside that area, we put proper safeguards in place — usually the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses — so your data still gets the same level of protection.
6. How long we keep your data
We only keep your personal information for as long as we genuinely need it — or for as long as the law tells us to.
- Accounts and order records — kept for up to 6 years after your last order, so we can meet HMRC and consumer law rules.
- Marketing preferences — kept until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent.
- Contact enquiries — kept for up to 24 months after we've sorted things out.
- Website analytics — usually kept for up to 14 months.
7. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR, you've got a clear set of rights over your personal information:
- Right of access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold on you.
- Right to rectification — ask us to fix anything that's wrong or incomplete.
- Right to erasure — ask us to delete your data in certain situations.
- Right to restrict processing — ask us to pause or limit how we use your data.
- Right to data portability — get your data in a format you can reuse elsewhere.
- Right to object — object to us using your data for legitimate interests or direct marketing.
- Right to withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent, you can take it back at any time.
- Right to complain — raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at https://ico.org.uk.
To use any of these rights, just get in touch using the details below. We'll get back to you within one calendar month.
8. Cookies
Our site uses cookies and similar tools to make things work, remember what you like, see how the site is used, and — if you say yes — show you relevant marketing. You can change your cookie choices any time through our cookie banner or your browser settings.
For the full list of cookies we use, pop over to our Cookie Policy.
9. Security
Keeping your information safe is something we take seriously. We use sensible technical and organisational measures — encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure hosting, strict access controls, staff training and regular security reviews — to protect your data from loss, misuse or anyone poking around who shouldn't be.
10. Children's privacy
Our website and services are aimed at adults and business customers. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you think a child has given us their details, please let us know and we'll remove the information straight away.
11. Changes to this policy
We might update this policy from time to time — for example, if our services change or the law does. The "last updated" date at the top shows when we last gave it a refresh, so it's worth checking back now and then.
